Hello Friends, Welcome to another blog. I explain the History of Badshahi Mosque. The Badshahi Mosque, located in Lahore, Pakistan, is one of the most iconic landmarks of Mughal architecture. Here's a brief history of the mosque: 1. Construction: The mosque was commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir, who reigned from 1658 to 1707. Construction began in 1671 and was completed in 1673. It was built to commemorate Aurangzeb's victory over the Maratha leader Shivaji in the Deccan region of India. 2. Architectural Style: The Badshahi Mosque is a masterpiece of Mughal architecture, characterized by its grand scale, symmetrical design, and intricate ornamentation. It was constructed using red sandstone and marble, with elaborate frescoes, calligraphy, and inlaid tile work adorning its interior and exterior.
